Welcome to Redruth Revival CIC

"Working to breathe new life into the heart of Redruth"

Our Aims

REJUVENATE – REGENERATE – REPAIR – RENEW

Our overall aim is to contribute to the development of a strong, sustainable, and socially inclusive economy in Redruth that will benefit our communities and our businesses.

We believe the future of town centres depends on providing a mix of goods, services and experiences that will bring people back into our towns – we can provide unique, characterful, vibrant, and exciting places where people want to shop, relax, eat, drink, socialise and work.

Initially we identified the dilapidated Buttermarket complex as a key site in Redruth through which we could achieve this ambition and so our work began.

2017 – We raised sufficient funds to purchase the freehold of the Buttermarket buildings and Mining Exchange.

2021 – We purchased the Wheal Peevor Purser’s Office.

2023 – We purchased the adjoining Fair Meadow car park and dilapidated building.

The Buttermarket History

Redruth Buttermarket has been a centre for trading since it was built in 1795. Originally a three sided development, it was open on the eastern side to what is now Alma Place.

Currently closed for a £4million refurbishment it will re-open in 2024.
